Group Meeting Exercise (E. B. Jacobs) begins with a preparation phase in which the candidate reviews information about the problem(s) or complaint(s). The problems/complaints may center around the candidate’s subordinate group’s performance or perhaps a new policy or program. More likely, the issues deal with customer service or community issues, and the candidate will be meeting with a citizen/customer group. The candidate will have an allotted time to prepare for the group meeting. Candidate then meets with the subordinates/citizens, who are trained role player(s) or assessor(s) acting as role players, in a fully-interactive fashion to resolve the performance/service issues and/or address the complaints. There may be a written report/memo completed by the candidate following the meeting. This module includes 10 practice exercises.
