E.B. JACOBS TRAINING MODULES (Fire Services Chief Officer)

E. B. Jacobs, as do most Test/Assessment Center companies, may conduct a "live" orientation session with candidates. However, Jacobs will certainly provide candidates with a Candidate Preparation Guide well in advance of the Assessment Center. In this document, E. B. Jacobs will describe each type of exercise they intend to use in the process, and they will do so over the course of one or two pages for each component. Their "Oral Board" will consist of a Subordinate Conference (role play) Exercise or a Subordinate Performance (presentation) Exercise, an Incident Supervision/Command (tactical) Exercise, and, perhaps, a Career Review Board and a Group Meeting (role play) Exercise. The In-Basket/Written Work Sample Exercises are written response exercises. We recommend that you hold off purchasing our training module(s) until you have reviewed the Candidate Preparation Guide. Knowing what the exercises will be will streamline your learning/practice as well as make it more affordable. As to your actual Assessment Center, the Jacobs company strongly favors a process in which candidates appear before a panel of assessors as opposed to video/audio recording your performance for later evaluation; therefore, you can expect a bit of cordial interaction with the assessors before and/or after your exercise performance.
